Director, Real Estate Lending
The base salary for this position is $75,000 plus commission plus overrides (percentage of teams commission) plus annual management bonus*. annual management bonus is subject to Board approval and organization performance
The expected schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM.
The Mortgage Sales Manager is responsible for the overall success of First Mortgage originations at the credit union, including the administration, coordination and evaluation of the Mortgage Department policies, procedures, and processes. The Mortgage Sales Manager will lead the member experience effort in overall support of mortgage sales and collaboration with mortgage operations and other Summit Team Members.
Responsible for achieving individual and Mortgage Department production goals.
Recruit, develop, and train Mortgage Loan Originators that generate high quality loans that are compliant with company policies, procedures, and pricing strategies.
Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding the current trends and economic conditions in real estate lending and servicing to ensure the credit union is maintaining a high level of service when compared to others in the financial services industry.
Ensure that a positive work environment and culture is fostered resulting in satisfied employees in accordance with the credit union’s mission statement and our team values.
Collaborate with other Summit Federal Credit Union team members including Branch Network, Summit Investment and Retirement Services and Business Lending.
Support the Sales and Service Culture at the credit union. Maximize the success of real estate lending and ensure that sales efforts are strongly encouraged and reinforced by management coaching and recognition.
Ensure that all mortgage staff are provided with adequate training and that their sales efforts are in accordance with the credit union’s philosophies. Sales should be based on members’ needs as part of an overall Sales and Service Culture.
Ensure adherence to all policies related to areas of oversight tasked to.
Ensure that up to date training, reference, and other appropriate material are available to assist the mortgage staff in the completion of their duties.
Participate in special assignments, project and committees as requested by the Vice President of Lending or Director of Real Estate Lending
Provide a positive example to all areas in the credit union through his/her interactions with others.
Represents and promotes the credit union within the business community.
Establish and maintain networking relationships throughout the community through involvement and participation in business, social, community and/or political committees, Boards or other activities

Must have 2+ years commensurate work experience required and 1+ years of comprehensive management and mortgage lending experience.
Must be familiar with the financial service industry. Must have 3-5 years’ experience in the financial industry.
Familiarity with lending regulations governing financial institutions, preferably credit unions is desired.
Knowledge of Point of Sale and Loan Origination Systems (Empower, Encompass, etc.)
Excellent computer skills
Excellent sales and service coaching skills
Ability to oversee planning and execution of new products and/or programs.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing at a professional business level.
Ability to operate a personal computer with the Microsoft Office suite, word processing, spreadsheet and data applications.
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to manage and lead people
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods in an office setting.
Must be able to travel for business related matters.
Training and Compliance Requirements
