Job description

Sitting on a quiet tree-lined street in Soho, twelve floors rise above the neighborhood’s storied lofts, boutiques, and galleries. The name derives from the particular manner of hospitality, one that feels more like staying at the home of a dear friend than at a hotel — discreet, refined, generous. Our hotel has 97 rooms and suites with four distinct F&B concepts led by an acclaimed chef. The street-side seafood restaurant and second floor cocktail bar will be venues that are open to the public. The Apartment and The Rooftop are spaces reserved exclusively for guests and friends of guests.

Purpose of the Role

Our well-travelled hotel guests come to The Manner expecting a sophisticated environment including privileges to a list of amenities in an inviting atmosphere - making The Manner their house away from home. As Managing Director you are the visionary leader responsible for ensuring that every aspect of the guest experience is executed with precision, personalization, and genuine hospitality. This role oversees the full operation of the hotel, driving performance across all departments to achieve excellence in service, financial success, and team engagement. Cultivate a culture of excellence by inspiring, mentoring, and developing a high-performing leadership team and staff.

Oversee all standards and service protocols, ensuring flawless execution across every touchpoint of the guest journey.

Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue teams to maximize market share, attract high-value clientele, and grow the hotel’s prestige.

Ensure full compliance with all legal, safety, and operational standards, maintaining the highest levels of integrity and accountability.

Lead property-wide initiatives focused on innovation, sustainability, and enhancing the overall guest and employee experience.

Represent the hotel at industry events, community functions, and with ownership, positioning The Manner as a market leader.

Qualifications

Over 10 years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry, with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams to achieve business objectives.

Extensive experience in overseeing daily operations, ensuring seamless guest experiences, and driving efficiency across all departments, including front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage.

Strong ability to develop and manage budgets, analyze financial performance, and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability while controlling costs.

Adept at building relationships with stakeholders, resolving conflicts effectively, and maintaining high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
