Our Chicago Real Estate Tax practice is expanding, and we're looking for leaders who are driven to build high-performing teams and play a key role in the next phase of growth at Forvis Mazars. We are dedicated to helping clients navigate a complex tax landscape with clarity and confidence. Our team delivers practical, forward-thinking guidance tailored to each client's goals, offering reliable support through change, growth, and opportunity.
What You Will Do
Provide strategic oversight and leadership in delivering tax advisory and compliance services for individuals, partnerships, and corporations across real estate
Oversee complex tax research and insights, translating technical findings into actionable strategies for clients and firm leadership
Ensure quality and compliance through high-level review of tax filings and risk management protocols
Strengthen client relationships by delivering proactive, high-impact tax solutions and positioning the firm as a trusted advisor
Drive a culture of client service excellence, fostering long-term partnerships and consistent engagement
Develop and lead high-performing teams, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and career development
Manage project execution and resource allocation, ensuring timely, efficient, and high-quality service delivery
Support firm growth through strategic planning, client retention, and targeted business development initiatives
Expand market presence by representing the firm at industry events and cultivating new opportunities
Maintain technical leadership through ongoing education, regulatory awareness, and internal knowledge sharing
Promote thought leadership by authoring publications and leading firm-wide training initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
11+ years of relevant progressive tax experience in public accounting, or a combination of corporate tax and public accounting
Current and valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Flexibility to travel for client engagements and internal meetings
Travel may include overnight stays
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in related field
Supporting public and private REITs, funds of funds, or private equity clients

Illinois Wage Transparency
Pursuant to Illinois' Equal Pay Act, the salary range displayed is for the Illinois market. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Non-exempt/hourly positions will be eligible for time and half pay for employees that work over 40 hours in a workweek. Benefits are eligibility-based and could include group health plan benefits, 401(K), bonuses, profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave.
