Job Description An established precision manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Manual or CNC Horizontal Boring Bar Machinist to join its team. In this role, you will set up and operate manual or CNC boring bars to produce precision components according to blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate has strong machining knowledge, understands workholding and tooling, and is committed to producing accurate, high-quality work in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: Set up and operate manual or CNC horizontal boring bars to produce precision components
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, dimensions, and tolerances
Measure and inspect completed components using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments
Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds based on alloy materials and machining requirements
Perform routine machine maintenance and help ensure equipment operates efficiently
Qualifications and Requirements: Experience with manual horizontal boring bars or CNC boring bars
Strong knowledge of workholding and clamping methods for milling, drilling, tapping, and boring operations
Ability to read and understand blueprints and use micrometers, rulers, and other precision measuring tools
Knowledge of different alloy materials and the appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds required for machining
Math skills necessary to calculate angles, bolt circles, and other measurements required for machining tasks
Must have personal tools appropriate for machine setup, deburring, tool changes, and measuring throughout the machining process
Proficiency in the use of overhead cranes
