We are currently seeking the following position to join our team in our Northwest Houston, Texas facility, near 290 & Beltway 8.
MANUAL MACHINIST
POSITION SUMMARY
To machine, inspect and produce manufactured product per operating procedures and instructions.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform complex tight tolerance machining on manual lathes and mills
Understand and operate machines, tooling, and measuring equipment properly and safely
Read/understand basic blueprints
Basic math skills
Effective communication skills and ability to work as a team with coworkers
Follow written and verbal instructions
Work independently with help as needed
Regular attendance and ability to work overtime is essential
REQUIRED SKILLS
Able to use specialized equipment including manual machines, lathes, mills, and measuring tools
5-10 years experience manual machining
Programming and/or basic CNC experience a plus
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds and stairs and work in proximity to loud equipment regularly.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including but not limited to: safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots and other equipment regularly.
Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly, 100 pounds assisted.
Ability to stand for 8 or more hours daily/regularly.
Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this position, the technician is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and electrical equipment in both high and low voltage/amperage ranges, and occasionally exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally high.
