HiFyve is Hiring a Manual Machinist!Starting Pay: $26.00 -$36.09/hourShift: 3rd (10:30pm - 7am) Sun - ThurLocation: Milwaukee Metro AreaJob Duties and Responsibilities:Set up, adjust, and operate engine lathes, pull bores, trepan machines, and push boring machinesOperate multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining production and quality standardsDetermine machine setups and alignments to maintain tight tolerances and concentricity requirementsSelect appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and feed rates based on material and job requirementsDetermine operation sequences to achieve required dimensions and surface finishesModify and grind tooling as needed to accommodate varying materials and machining conditionsAssist other machinists with machine setups and troubleshooting as neededMonitor equipment performance and make adjustments based on cutting conditions or machine behaviorPerform in-process inspections using precision measuring instrumentsRead and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawingsPerform machine cleanouts and routine housekeeping to support production operationsFollow all safety policies and procedures while maintaining a clean work environmentEducation Requirements:High school diploma or GED preferredTechnical machining education or apprenticeship training is a plusKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:1–3 years of machining experience requiredExperience operating manual lathes, boring mills, or similar machining equipment preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specificationsStrong shop math skills requiredExperience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and bore gaugesGeneral knowledge of machining practices, setups, tooling, and cutting parametersAbility to maintain close tolerances and quality standardsExperience operating overhead cranes and lifting devices preferredStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
