Manufacturing Apprentice RoleWelker designs and manufactures innovative solutions for the oil and gas industry and beyond. With 65+ years of industry experience, ERP system, 3D CAD software, and on-site manual and computer-aided machines, we are a one-stop-shop for industry-leading products, turnkey solutions, and worldwide service.We're looking for students who would like to learn about parts and assemblies that have been engineered right here in Sugar Land, TX. You'll be surrounded by expertise that can teach you how to assemble products from an engineering drawing, work instructions, and other such resources. You'll also work with industry standard computer software such as Enterprise Resource Planning software. There are also warehouse related activities to add to your resume!It's a physical job - you may be on your feet for 90% to 95% of your workday. You will be expected to safely lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. Bending, stretching, and climbing ladders will be daily activities.Responsibilities include:Be introduced to technical specifications, engineering drawings, and be able to follow work instructionsAssemble engineered products and learn about the source of manufactured parts, such as CNC lathes and millsLearn how Oil and Gas products are tested and perform the testingTake on various warehouse tasks including inventory, receiving, and shippingMeet departmental delivery goals by prioritizing and completing workload in a timely mannerKey skills include:Communication: You will interact with peers, team leads, and managers in a kind and professional manner, because communication is essential for a successful dayTeamwork: You work well with others with an attitude of cooperation and achievement, and you are committed to the success of the team as a wholeWork Ethic: You are production-focused and have a highly developed sense of urgency and prioritization to help us meet our delivery timelinesCommitment to Learning: You are committed to learning our extensive product line, from what these products do to understanding the mechanics of how they workTechnical Aptitude: You'll be at home working in an innovative, mechanically-minded group; we design and manufacture a full line of mechanical products used in several industriesAttention to Detail: You make a conscious effort to focus on quality and safetyThe Welker team is a diverse and motivated group.
