We'd love to have you join our Bindery team as a Manufacturing Assistant Operator (Binder Assistant Operator).What You'll DoAs a Manufacturing Assistant Operator, you'll support the binder operation by helping to set up equipment, monitoring product quality, and keeping production running smoothly. Responsibilities include:Assisting with binder setup according to job specificationsSetting up the cover deck and feeding coversHelping maintain glue application on the spine and ensuring glue pots remain filledSetting up trimmers and maintaining final trim sizePerforming quality checks throughout the binding processInspecting books for quality during productionWatching for and clearing jams, misfeeds, and bad trimsAssisting with paperwork and production-related formsSupporting pocket feeders when additional help is neededAssisting with make-readies on auxiliary equipmentHelping with routine binder maintenanceReading and understanding job tickets, work orders, and other production documentationWorking closely with the Binder Operator to support daily production schedulesFollowing customer quality requirementsHelping meet production goals related to make-readies, speed, waste, and efficiencyUsing tools and measuring devices such as wrenches, gauges, and tape measuresFollowing all safety procedures and protocolsAssisting with other duties as assigned by managementWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who is reliable, safety-minded, and ready to work as part of a team in a production environment.High school diploma or GEDDependable, reliable, and responsible in fulfilling job dutiesAbility to troubleshoot machine issues when malfunctions occurAbility to work well with othersFlexibility and willingness to adapt to changing production needsAbility to read and comprehend instructionsAbility to read a ruler and use hand toolsAbility to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsBasic math skills, including addition and subtractionAbility to use measuring devices accuratelyBasic problem-solving skillsWillingness to work overtime as neededBonus Points If You HaveMinimum of 2 years of bindery experienceExperience operating machines and/or power toolsPhysical RequirementsThis is an active, hands-on manufacturing role.
