Job description

Manufacturing OperatorMerit Brass is a recognized leader in the manufacturing and distribution of pipe, valves, fittings, and related products, trusted by customers nationwide for quality, reliability, and service. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Manufacturing Operator out of our Cleveland, OH location. We are looking for an individual who is eager to learn and grow with our team. Previous experience is a plus but not required. We provide on-the-job training and opportunities to develop new skills and grow within the company. This is a great opportunity for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and interested in building a long-term career.Benefits Merit Brass offers a competitive benefits package including:Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) Retirement PlanPaid Life InsurancePaid VacationPaid HolidaysPosition ObjectivesOperate in accordance with Merit Brass policies and proceduresProduce pipe nipples according to Merit Brass quality standards and goalsSupport manufacturing by consistently meeting or exceeding department efficiency and productivity goalsWork as an effective team member to achieve manufacturing service targetsKey ResponsibilitiesWear and use all required personal protective equipment (PPE)Interpret and verify parts being produced against production tickets/travelers (material, diameter, thread type, etc.)Follow all production procedures and work instructionsOperate machines of various sizes depending on production needsStart and end production jobs using the data collection systemPerform visual and gauge quality inspections approximately every 20 minutes and document resultsCommunicate machine or quality issues to the setup operator or supervisorComplete all required production documentation accuratelyPlace traveler paperwork in each container before producing partsOperate backup machines or assist with floor work during downtimeMaintain a clean and organized work area and prepare the machine for the next shiftTransport parts from holding areas when necessaryComplete additional duties as assignedRequirementsHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalentBasic computer skills, including general PC operation and data entry (Microsoft Office experience preferred)Ability to read measuring tools such as rulers, micrometers, and calipersStrong attendance, punctuality, and work ethicAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to stand and bend for the entire shiftAbility to lift 50–70 lbs. and frequently push or pull bulky materials and carts weighing up to 200 lbs.Willingness to learn and improve in a changing manufacturing environmentWillingness to work overtime when requested (typically voluntary)Maintain a professional, ethical, and respectful attitude while working as part of a team
