Manufacturing Associate IV - NightsClinton, TN 37716OverviewSalary Range $22.00 Position Type Full TimeDescriptionJob Title: Manufacturing Associate IVFLSA Status: HourlyGrade: 17Job Purpose Statement: The primary function of this position is for the employee to lead a team to operate manufacturing equipment to produce products to the required specification at the expected rate of throughput. In addition, the employee will ensure equipment and materials are available for production, material inventory is maintained, and the area assigned runs efficiently. In addition to the following, shall show growth-minded behavior, responsible behavior, good attitude, and attendance.Summary of Responsibility:Ability to evaluate the needs of the department and self-assign work to optimize the departments outputProvide oversight and leadership to the production team on the assigned equipmentBe trained and capable of operating multiple complex pieces of manufacturing equipmentPerform routine preventative maintenance on equipment as assignedOperate heavy manufacturing equipment to produce materials to specification requirementsLearn and follow standard work for all areas as assignedEvaluate products through visual and dimensional inspection techniques to ensure conformance to tolerance and specifications and address any quality concerns found.Organize, load, and move in process materials and finished products as required to maintain expected efficiencies.Recognize when routine adjustments are necessary and identify errors at the earliest possible stage to minimize production reworkDetect and report faulty operation, defective, and/or unusual material, or equipment conditions. Work with support departments to resolve the issue identified.Abide by all safety and quality specificationsOperate powered industrial vehiclesCheck computer for production schedule and requirements for run(s)Set-up the machine according to specifications.Responsible for cleaning and some maintenance of the machine.Enter information into MRP system as requiredMaintain a clean and safe work areaPerform additional tasks as assignedQualificationsEducation, Experience and Skills Required:High School diploma or GED requiredPrefer 2 years in a manufacturing/distribution operationAbility to work with cross functional teams to address issues related to production or qualityCritical thinking skills to evaluate complex and changing situations leading to the recommendation and implementation of a course of actionAble to train quickly through on the job experience with a hands-on approachVerbal and written communication skills to report performance to managementAbility to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting production and quality goalsAbility to obtain and maintain a valid forklift or equipment license as needed or requiredMust read, write, and communicate in EnglishErgonomic & Physical Requirements:Standing or Walking up to 90% of the dayLift / Carry 25lb constantly, up to 100lb occasionallyPush / Pull 50lb constantly, up to 150lb occasionallyGrasp 75lbPinch 15lbLift bulky objectsAny lifting over 70 lbs. must be completed with assistance i.e. mechanical or individual.Full range of motion required: Cervical, Shoulders, Elbow, Wrist, Fingers, Hands, Truck Twist, and Feet.Ability to wear PPE as requiredWorking Conditions may include: moderate noise, moving mechanical parts, static shock, high temperatures.
