Job description
Mechanical Parts AssemblerFits mechanical parts and subassemblies into different types of machinery and products. Conducts measures of products and adjusts them. Responsible for upkeep of workstation. Works according to established trade and shop practices. Typically has 0-2 years of experience and works under close supervision.Responsibilities Include:Assist in maintaining good housekeepingAbility to train and work in all areas of productionPerform relief duties in all areas of productionMaintain quality requirements in accordance with company standardsLabel and seal packagesPalletize packagesLabel boxes and stack on pallets in serial number orderLabel finished pallets with production move ticketAssist the continuous running of equipmentUse the safety and protective equipment as requiredCommunicate issues related to paperwork, materials, products and equipment to management / team leadersUnderstand company expectations and perform accordinglyCross train in other Work Centers as neededParticipate in any Lean or process improvement initiativesAssist the Supervisor in improving productivity and efficiency of the operationObserve the process and initiate/own activities to improve the processOperate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)Operate production line machinery and computersWork and communicate well in a team environmentReject product outside of specificationsFlexibility to learn and perform various tasksClean and maintain work areaDevelop and share suggestions for improvementMeet minimum productivity requirementsOther duties as assigned by Production Supervisor supervision.Requirements Include:Willingness to learnAbility to work independently as well as with other departmentsProven ability to multi-task and pay attention to detailAbility to communicate clearly and effectivelyTechnical Skill Requirements:Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, parts and computersAbility to lift up to 45 poundsAbility to stand for extended periods of timeEducation/Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalentAbility to read and write in English for purposes of filling out various production documentation (SOP's, Lot Control, etc.)Basic math skillsMeasuring skills1+ year working in a manufacturing environmentClassified Pay status:Non-Exempt/HourlySupervisory Responsibility:This position has no supervisory responsibilitiesPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands for fine motor tasks, and reach with hands and arms.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.
