Job description
Summary/Objectiven The Manufacturing Cost Accountant is responsible for managing cost accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis to support the organization's manufacturing operations. This role evaluates production performance against established company standards, monitors manufacturing costs and operational results, and ensures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. The Manufacturing Cost Accountant provides accurate financial reporting and actionable insights to support strategic business decisions while identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase operational efficiency, and enhance overall profitability.nn Responsibilitiesn Monitor and track material usage throughout the manufacturing process, from raw materials through finished product sales.Calculate and maintain the monthly cost of finished goods, including bills of materials (BOM).Analyze production and operational data to measure efficiencies, yields, and cost performance, providing management with actionable insights and recommendations to improve operations.Reconcile inventory balances and assign manufacturing costs while partnering with plant management to investigate and resolve variances.Prepare, complete, and submit required government utilization and regulatory reports accurately and on time.Coordinate and support government audits by providing documentation, explaining reported data, and responding to auditor inquiries.Calculate producer payroll based on product purchases, milk pickups, and quality metrics.Apply cost accounting principles to perform analyses and studies that provide detailed product, production, and operational cost information to support business planning and decision-making.nn Preferred Education and Experiencen Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; an Associate degree in Accounting with significant related experience may be considered.Two to four years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.n EEO Statementn Rutters provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, disability, gender identity, results of genetic testing, service in the military, or any other protected status under Local, State or Federal Regulations.
