Job description

Manufacturing Engineering SupervisorA Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor provides technical leadership and daily oversight to a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Programmers. This role balances front-line team management to optimize manufacturing processes, resolve production bottlenecks, and ensure schedule adherence.This position demands an agile leader who can balance daily operational firefighting with long-term strategic initiatives. You will drive continuous improvement on the production floor by applying Lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, reduce cycle time, and maximize throughput. Working closely with Quality, Engineering, and Operations will play a pivotal role.Since 1954, Crissair has manufactured high-quality precision components for nearly every airframe manufacturer and major subcontractor in the industry for both military and commercial aircraft. This experience, together with our commitment to a customer-centric culture, is the reason why many of the world's largest companies turn to Crissair as a partner on everything from day-to-day operations to some of the most challenging Aerospace projects around the world.Actual base salary offered to the selected applicant will be based on their work location, qualifications, job related skills, relevant education, and training experience.Base salary range Minimum $120,000 - Maximum $124,000Crissair offers the following benefits to regular full time employees:Dodgers Tickets Program – Access to company season tickets, available exclusively for employees throughout the season.Employee Appreciation Events – Quarterly experiences and lunches designed to recognize and celebrate employees, featuring unique offerings such as catered specialty meals and milestone celebration events.Highly Competitive Annual Bonus Program, with opportunities to significantly exceed target payouts based on company and individual performanceCareer Growth Opportunities within a stable and growing aerospace manufacturing organizationCollaborative, Team-Oriented Culture where employee contributions are recognized and valuedMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance (PPO and HMO options available)Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA)401(k) Retirement Plan with Company MatchEmployee Stock Purchase Program with Company MatchCompany-Paid Basic Life InsuranceGenerous Paid Time Off, Sick Leave, Paid Holidays, Bereavement Leave, and Jury Duty PayParental and Caregiver Leave ProgramsTuition Reimbursement and Professional Education AssistanceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) for personal, family, and financial wellbeingEmployee Appreciation & Recognition Programs, including birthdays, service awards, and special celebrationsJob Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership Manage daily priorities, workloads, and task execution for a team of 4-10 manufacturing engineers, including programmers.Establish and foster a culture of accountability.Process Optimization & Lean Implementation Maximize efficiency through semi-autonomous machining techniques.Drive process improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing methodologies, value stream mapping, and Six Sigma principles, eliminating waste and reducing cycle times.Design for Manufacturability Partner closely with Engineering to review new product development releases, ensuring optimal tooling integration, CNC programming, and cost-effective assembly logic.Production Support & MRB Provide technical oversight for daily floor issues.Serve as the POC member of the Material Review Board (MRB) to evaluate, troubleshoot, and disposition nonconforming hardware and implement permanent corrective actions.Documentation Control for the Department Oversee the accuracy and maintenance of manufacturing work instructions and standard operating procedures.Safety & Compliance Ensure all manufacturing engineering and programming activities comply with corporate safety metrics, environmental regulations, and AS9100 quality management standards.Qualification RequirementsEducation/Experience Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience in an engineering role5+ years of CNC Programming experience1-3 years of experience managing projects in a supervisory role overseeing 4+ personnelLanguage Skills Exceptional command of the English language, both written and spoken.Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.Ability to write technical documentation.Technical Skills Strong understanding of aerospace fabrication design, assembly, and GD&TStrong background in planning and scheduling by setting timelines, organizing daily tasks, and tracking project goals.Training in lean principles is preferredBackground in problem-solving methodology. (8D, A3, Fishbone, 5-whys, etc.)Computer/ Office Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/Inventory systems.Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, manufacturing, and fabrication processesProficiency in Blueprint reading, including GD&TProficiency in reading Engineering specs and procedures.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentPhysical Demands Frequent Activities: Standing, typing, handling objects, talking/hearing,Occasional activities: Sitting, walking, reaching, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25lbsRare activities: Climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100+lbs.Vision Requirements Frequent: Computer MonitorOccasional: Close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, computer work, color vision, distance vision, peripheral visionWork Environment Occasional exposure: Mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, very quiet to very loud noiseRare exposure: High places, outdoor weather, electrical shock, VibrationCrissair, Inc. respects your privacy.
