Manufacturing Engineering Technician
Location: Frederick, MD area
Pay: $30–$38/hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift
Travel: None
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support day-to-day production and engineering activities within a manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly on the production floor, troubleshooting problems, improving processes, and helping engineering teams turn technical requirements into practical manufacturing solutions.
The technician will partner with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance personnel to improve manufacturing processes, documentation, equipment, tooling, safety, quality, and overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on technical support to production personnel and assist with resolving manufacturing issues.
Partner with engineering to evaluate and improve production processes and manufacturing methods.
Create, update, and maintain CAD drawings, layouts, sketches, and other technical documentation.
Develop and maintain work instructions and manufacturing process documentation.
Assist with implementing engineering changes on the production floor.
Support the design or modification of basic fixtures, jigs, tooling, workstations, and material-handling solutions .
Assist with new equipment installation, setup, qualification, and process validation.
Conduct time studies and gather production data used for capacity, labor, and productivity analysis.
Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, standard work, waste reduction, and continuous-improvement initiatives .
Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions related to manufacturing and quality concerns.
Work directly with production teams to identify opportunities to improve safety, ergonomics, quality, and efficiency.
Qualifications
Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related technical discipline is preferred but not required .
2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment preferred.
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar .
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
General knowledge of manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and production processes.
Experience creating or maintaining work instructions and process documentation.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Basic understanding of dimensional inspection, tolerances, and measurement equipment.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, or structured problem-solving methods is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
$30.00–$38.00 per hour
