Job Overview
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports Manufacturing Engineers in developing, improving, and sustaining safe, efficient, and standardized manufacturing processes. This role plays a key part in fostering a zero-incident safety culture centered on "Think Safe, Work Safe, Go Home Safe" while supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and profitability.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, analytical, and motivated to improve manufacturing operations through process optimization, standardization, and collaboration across departments.
A Day In The Life
In this role, a typical day may include:
Supporting Manufacturing Engineers with process development, documentation, and continuous improvement activities
Assisting with the design and implementation of manufacturing processes, tooling, jigs, and fixtures
Participating in risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs), and process failure mode and effects analyses (PFMEAs)
Conducting time studies and workflow analysis to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and waste reduction
Supporting new product introductions and manufacturing process transitions into production
Maintaining and updating manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process standards
Assisting with engineering changes, deviations, and specification updates through established change control processes
Entering and maintaining manufacturing data within SAP and other ERP systems
Collaborating with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and EHS teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
Supporting corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities and continuous improvement projects
Monitoring process performance and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvements
Ensuring work areas, equipment, and processes meet safety and quality standards

Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field (preferred)
Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial engineering, or continuous improvement activities in a production environment
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Kaizen events, and process optimization methodologies
Experience conducting time studies, labor analysis, or workflow assessments
Understanding of industrial engineering and manufacturing process improvement principles
Exposure to SAP or other ERP systems
Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Project
Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems and CAPA processes
Understanding of manufacturing safety requirements and risk assessment methodologies

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Ability to lift, carry, or move materials weighing up to 35 pounds on an occasional basis
Frequent bending, reaching, crouching, and repetitive hand movements
Ability to utilize computers, tablets, and manufacturing equipment as required
Ability to work within a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels
Ability to move throughout production, warehouse, and office areas as needed
Ability to visually inspect products, equipment, documentation, and production processes
