Manufacturing Machine Operator I - 2nd ShiftLocation: Orwell, OH, US, 44076 On-site or Remote: OnsiteJob Title: Manufacturing Machine Operator I Shift: 2nd Shift - 3:00 pm - 11:00 pmJob Summary: Run grinding machines producing a quality product to blueprint specifications.Rewards and Benefits: In addition to competitive pay, employees receive a shift premium of $2.00/hr for 2nd Shift. Annual safety shoe stipendKey Job Responsibilities: Set up and operate grinding machines: Install, change, and dress grinding wheels where applicable. Determine amount of stock to remove while working within tolerances. Gage inserts to insure proper dimensions. Scope inserts to verify visual characteristics. Pull samples and Record inspection results on route card. Place inserts into proper trays and move them to the next operation. Separate scrap from good inserts, document accurately. Scan correct production information. Operate other equipment as needed. Train new operators when required. Operators should be capable of setting up machines and trouble shoot basic to moderate problems.Key Job Accountabilities: Commitment to working safely and understand all safety procedures. Deviations in routine are handled according to operating procedures and/or work instructions. Operator responsible for following inspection control plan, assuring product is processed according to proper routings, specifications and that the quantity and style are correct. Work to meet daily departmental production goals. Must be reliable and dependable. Communicate safety, quality, product issues with supervisor, team members and across shifts.Education and Experience: Must have High School diploma or GEDWork Environment: Environment with controlled temperatures and dust collection systems. Safety glasses with side-shields required. Safety Shoes are required. Gloves, cut resistant gloves when necessary.Physical Demands: Approximately eight (8) hours with scheduled break periods. Standing, intermittent walking, reaching, sitting, bending and lifting product weighing no more than thirty-three (33) pounds. Use of hands and fingers for fine motor tasks, to operate machinery, and handle tools safely. Visual acuity is necessary for reading gauges, inspecting products, and ensuring quality standards. Physical stamina and the ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks are essential.Problem Solving: Run orders by due date. Assignments and instructions communicated orally and carried out by standing guidelines. Routine problems solved by operator using learned knowledge of insert styles and production processes.
