Job description

Manufacturing Operator, 3D PrintingKalogon, a smart seating startup based in Melbourne, seeks a Manufacturing Operator to help us build cutting-edge medical equipment using 3D printers.As our Manufacturing Operator, you will be responsible for owning the entire process of 3D printing and processing custom-made medical equipment for individuals who use wheelchairs.Hours:11:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday - FridayKey Responsibilities:Run a bank of resin and FDM 3D printers, staging jobs, starting prints, and harvesting finished parts to keep machines producing through the shift.Post-process printed parts: support removal, washing, curing, cleanup, and finishing to established standards.Perform first-pass inspection on every part, catching print defects (layer shift, warping, incomplete cure, poor bed adhesion) before they reach Quality Control.Diagnose issues on the floor and implement practical fixes.Contribute ideas to reduce cycle time and improve quality.Collaborate with R&D on prototypes and pilot builds.Required skills:Strong mechanical aptitude — you pick up new tools and processes quicklyProblem-solver who thinks on their feetBackground in manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or a maker/technical environment is a plusBackground in 3D-modeling or CAM is a plusHigh school diploma or equivalentReports To: Production ManagerWork EnvironmentAir-conditioned environmentCasualFast pacedInteresting, with lots of varietyArea of work – Near I-95 and Sarno in Melbourne, FLOpportunities for overtime are availableProbationary period: 3 monthsBenefitsPTO: 20 days per year (pro-rated based on hire date), then one day added per year of service up to 25 daysHolidays: 5 all-team holidays, 3 floating holidays (pro-rated based on hire date)401K with up to 4% matchHealth/medical/dental insuranceEquity per rolePhysical RequirementsStanding and moving around the production floor for most of the shift.Lifting and carrying build plates, printed parts, and materials up to 25 lbs.Fine motor work including support removal, small part handling, and detail finishing for extended periods$17 - $18 an hour
