Job description

Manufacturing OperatorThis role involves setting up and operating machinery used to shape materials for water filters in an industrial production environment. You will monitor machine performance, maintain production speeds and quotas, and ensure safe and consistent operation in a warm, heat-emitting setting. The position follows a structured work-rest schedule to support comfort and safety while working near heated equipment.ResponsibilitiesSet up and tend machinery used to shape material for water filters according to established procedures.Monitor machine speed, cycle times, and production rates to ensure quotas are consistently met.Check water levels and other machine indicators regularly to confirm proper operation.Perform routine visual inspections of machinery and products to identify issues or defects early.Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain quality and productivity within specified standards.Work safely in an environment where machines generate heat and temperatures can reach up to 98 degrees.Follow a 45-minute on and 15-minute off work cycle to regulate body temperature and maintain safety.Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively as part of machine operation and basic maintenance tasks.Lift and move materials or components weighing up to 50 pounds as needed for production.Follow all safety procedures, including heat safety protocols, use of breaks, and hydration guidelines.Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and safe operations.Collaborate with team members and supervisors to report issues, share updates, and support continuous improvement.Essential SkillsExperience working in a manufacturing or production environment (any amount of experience is acceptable).Comfort working in an environment where temperatures can reach up to 98 degrees due to heated machinery.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.Basic machine operation skills, including setting up and tending production equipment.Ability to use power tools and hand tools safely and correctly.Attention to detail when monitoring machine speeds, cycle times, and production quotas.Ability to perform routine inspections and identify irregularities in machine operation.Willingness to follow structured work-rest schedules to support safety in a hot environment.Reliability and consistency in following safety procedures and production guidelines.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior machine operating experience is a plus.Experience in roles that required physical labor is a plus.Comfort working in an industrial setting around hot machinery.Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new processes and equipment.Ability to work effectively on a 2nd shift schedule (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.).Why Work Here?Employees benefit from a workplace where people tend to stay long term, reflecting a stable and supportive culture. To support safety and comfort, a structured schedule of 45 minutes of work followed by a 15-minute break is in place, along with access to electrolytes and a stocked break room. The facility includes an on-site convenience-style break area with snacks, drinks, microwaves, coffee, and an employee lounge equipped with TVs, books, and games. The environment is physically demanding, involving lifting up to 50 pounds and working around production equipment, power tools, and hand tools, with appropriate safety procedures and protocols in place.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dover, NH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
