This strong, supportive culture drives progress and reinforces our position as a global leader in glass.Work Environment:This position is based full-time at the Shelbyville, IN manufacturing facility, with regular presence required on the production floor across all shifts, including periodic off-shift, weekend, and holiday coverage to support a 24/7 operation. The plant environment includes exposure to manufacturing conditions typical of automotive glass processing, including heat (tempering/furnace areas), noise, glass handling, forklift and overhead crane traffic, and use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, cut-resistant gloves, steel-toed footwear) in designated areas. The role requires the physical ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the facility for extended periods, climb stairs/platforms, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. This strong, supportive culture drives progress and reinforces our position as a global leader in glass.Primary Duties:Must follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the positionMaintain a constant flow of product for the area lineAssist with the development of new packing specificationsEnsure product quality meets specifications; perform quality inspections as requiredPack the windows onto racks using proper glass handling techniquesIf handling raw glass; place hands on top & side, while wearing cut safe gloves, capes & apronsUse extra safety precautions when placing into cullet bins or testing for quality measuresEnsure the Packing Specifications are being followed for each part being packedSupport the team during all changeovers as neededAssist in trouble shooting operation failuresPerform 5S and housekeeping duties to maintain high standard of facility cleanlinessCommunicate concerns, improvements and general information to others on the lineAssist with problem solving of manufacturing problems within the teams operations and other groups as necessary, to achieve production goalsFulfill assignments/ tasks given by coordinators and team leadersTrain and encourage others in order to achieve team goalsSupport safety, health, and environmental rules and lead by exampleAll other duties as assignedQualifications Desired:Safety and goal orientedSelf-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skillsQualifications Required:Knowledgeable in position specific SOPs and IATF requirementsAbility to work in temperatures of extreme hot or cold based on weather conditionsPhysical ability to sit, walk, stand, push, pull, carry, lift, squat, kneel and/or twistBenefits:Medical, Dental, Vision401(k) Match ProgramEmployee Assistance Plan at no additional costEducational AssistanceWork Shoe/Boot ProgramPrescription Safety Glasses ProgramCompany Paid Holidays – Nine (9) HolidaysWorkdays between Christmas Eve Day through New Years DayShift Differential for evening shiftPaid VacationLife Insurance at no costPilkington Employee Advantage DiscountsAnnual IncreaseRotating Day/Evening Shifts - 2/2/3 - we will provide a schedule upon hireCore Hours: Choice of 6:45am-7pm or 7pm-645am - Only work 6 months per yearWork Every Other WeekendHourly Pay: $21.60 - OT will be at least 12 hours per week, but will level off in the coming monthsWe offer an excellent compensation and benefits package, which includes 401k, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, company paid holidays, paid vacations, and education assistanceThe Salary Range posted represents Pilkington North America's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of the posting.
