Twin Disc is seeking an experienced and results-driven Manufacturing Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations within our machining and/or assembly departments. The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing daily production activities, leading and developing employees, ensuring safety and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role plays a critical part in achieving operational goals while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction LeadershipDirect and coordinate daily activities of production employees in machining and assembly operations.Plan, prioritize, and assign work to ensure production schedules, quality requirements, and customer commitments are met.Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and equipment utilization to maximize productivity and efficiency.Partner with Production Planning and other operational departments to achieve manufacturing objectives.Participate in daily management meetings and communicate departmental performance, issues, and priorities.Employee Development & LeadershipLead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of 15-30 production employees.Facilitate employee training and skill development initiatives.Conduct performance evaluations and support skill-based advancement programs.Promote employee engagement through effective communication, recognition, and accountability.Participate in hiring, onboarding, disciplinary actions, performance management, and other employment decisions.Continuous ImprovementDrive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.Analyze production and operational data to identify opportunities for process improvement.Recommend and implement enhancements to production methods, equipment, workflows, and operating procedures.Track and manage departmental KPIs, visual management boards, and continuous improvement activities.Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental standards.Conduct safety investigations, incident reviews, and corrective action activities.Promote a culture of safety through employee involvement and proactive risk management.Enforce company policies and maintain a safe and productive work environment.Quality & Operational ExcellenceBalance quality, productivity, cost, delivery, and employee morale to achieve business objectives.Maintain accurate production, labor, and attendance records.Support departmental budget planning and resource management.Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve operational challenges.Required QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; orAssociate degree plus equivalent manufacturing leadership experience.ExperienceMinimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience leading production teams and driving operational performance improvements.Experience in machining, assembly, powertrain, transmission, or industrial manufacturing environments preferred.Technical SkillsKnowledge of production planning and scheduling processes.Experience with ERP systems; JD Edwards experience preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety requirements, and quality systems.CompetenciesLeadership and Team DevelopmentProblem Solving and Decision MakingContinuous Improvement MindsetCommunication and Influencing SkillsOperational ExcellenceProject ManagementCollaboration and TeamworkAdaptability and Change ManagementData Analysis and Performance ManagementSafety LeadershipWork EnvironmentManufacturing facility environment with frequent presence on the production floor.Regular interaction with machinery, production equipment, and manufacturing personnel.Ability to work extended hours, overtime, or alternative shifts as business needs require.Why Twin Disc?At Twin Disc, you'll be part of a global manufacturing leader with a long-standing reputation for innovation, quality, and operational excellence.
