Capital Projects Manager - Manufacturing Operations & Engineering
Bishop & Company is recruiting on behalf of a confidential Hawaii-based manufacturer seeking a Capital Projects Manager to lead manufacturing engineering initiatives, production improvements, and capital projects across multiple processing and production facilities.
This is an opportunity for a manufacturing-focused engineering professional who enjoys improving plant performance, optimizing production systems, implementing automation, and delivering complex capital projects from concept through startup.
You'll spend time working directly with plant teams, evaluating equipment performance, supporting manufacturing operations, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions that improve production capacity and operational efficiency.
You'll have the opportunity to:

Partner directly with plant leadership on strategic initiatives

Own projects from concept through commissioning and startup
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Engineering & Operations
Evaluate manufacturing processes and production flow to identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and improvement opportunities
Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to improve throughput, reliability, efficiency, and overall equipment performance
Support automation initiatives and equipment modernization efforts
Analyze production systems and recommend engineering solutions that enhance operational performance
Assist with implementation of continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives
Capital Projects Leadership
Manage a portfolio of capital projects
Lead projects from concept development and business justification through installation and commissioning
Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical requirements
Track project performance, costs, and milestones
Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
Equipment, Vendors & Technology
Manage relationships with OEMs, contractors, fabricators, and engineering vendors
Support equipment selection, installation, startup, and performance validation
Lead vendor coordination and hold project partners accountable to project deliverables
Evaluate emerging technologies and automation opportunities that support manufacturing objectives
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
5+ years of experience leading capital projects within manufacturing, production, processing, packaging, or industrial operations
Experience managing projects from concept through commissioning
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, and equipment integration
Experience working with contractors, OEMs, and equipment vendors
Demonstrated success managing project budgets and schedules
Preferred
Food, beverage, agricultural processing, packaging, consumer products, or high-speed manufacturing experience
Experience with automation, controls, PLCs, or integrated production systems
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience
Experience supporting facility, utility, or processing equipment upgrades
PMP or other project management certifications
Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $135,000 - $160,000 annually. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
