Job DescriptionQuality Lead

Job Responsibilities:

·       Oversee and be responsible for United Tool Quality Systems and Compliance

·       Ensure compliance with customer requirements, drawings, specifications, and contractual quality standards

·       Lead internal and external audits (customer, third-party, regulatory)

·       Maintain controlled documentation including procedures, work instructions, and inspection records

·       Oversee first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections

·       Review and approve control plans, inspection plans, and measurement strategies

·       Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of inspection equipment (CMMs, micrometers, calipers, gauges)

·       Support production with root cause analysis and corrective actions for machining defects

·       Lead nonconformance investigations using 5 Whys, Fishbone, and PFMEA

·       Implement and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

·       Respond to customer complaints and corrective action requests (CARs)

·       Monitor scrap, rework, and quality KPIs

·       Lead, mentor, and develop quality expectations to hold machinist accountable

·       Provide training on inspection methods, GD, and quality standards

·       Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

·       Manage supplier quality performance and corrective actions

·       Conduct supplier audits as required

·       Interface with customers on quality issues and audits

Requirements:

•        5+ years of quality experience in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment

•        2+ years in a leadership role preferred

•        Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes

•        Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and GD

•        Experience with CMMs and inspection tools

•        ISO 9001 / AS9100 / IATF experience

•        Aerospace, automotive, or medical machining background
