Manufacturing - Sewing OperatorTitle: Manufacturing - Sewing OperatorLocation: Rock Hill, SCProduction Operator - Industrial Sewing Operator Department: Production Reports to: Production Supervisor Hours Available: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST (30-minute lunch break) FLSA Class: Non-Exempt Physical Address: 1953 Langston Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730 Salary Range: $17.00 - $22.75 per hour (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)About the Opportunity At BEDGEAR®, we believe exceptional products begin with exceptional craftsmanship. Our Production team is at the heart of everything we do, transforming innovative designs into high-quality sleep solutions that help our customers perform at their best.We're looking for a Production Operator who is passionate about manufacturing quality products and excited to help drive operational excellence through safe, efficient, and accurate production practices.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys hands-on work, is willing to learn multiple production functions, and takes pride in producing quality products that exceed customer expectations.Essential Functions (includes but not limited to):Beater/Bagger - Smooths out the fill within the pillows. Requires constant standing and upper body movements. Inserts a half core and zips pillow closed. Ensures quality standard before packaging pillow into a bag or box.Retail Box Maker/Closer - Cleans and erects retail cartons for the finished goods. This position requires constant standing and upper body movement while keeping up with the production line by always keeping the conveyor full of empty, erected retail cartons. Closes retail cartons on a conveyor and packs products into master cartons. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.Master Carton Maker/Stacker - This position must verify the shipping labels with the work order before labeling master cartons. Master cartons will be erected and taped on the bottom side of the carton then labeled. Once a master carton is filled, the carton will be taped shut, stacked, and then moved into a separate location by using a hand truck. This position requires constant bending and lifting of up to 50 lbs.Pillow Line Prep - This area prepares shells, active cores, and pillow bags. This position is responsible for pillow compliance, stamping, and quality checks. Constant standing and the ability to lift up to 50lbs is required.Sewer - Utilizes a single needle industrial machine to stitch closed pillows, ensuring they are meeting speed, accuracy, and quality requirements.Machine Operator - Safely operates pillow and/or mattress machines and is responsible for basic daily preventative maintenance of assigned machines. This position requires you to know and engage in the entire production process. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.Mattress Assembler - Orients foam, joins foam components with adhesive glue, apply FR socks and sew shut, apply mattress cover, feed finished mattress in to mattress compress/roll machine, remove rolled mattress, box and palletize finished product.Utility - This role involves general housekeeping and organization in the production department. Responsibilities include emptying mobile trash dumpsters, maintaining roller buggy bearings, recycling metals and cardboard, and notifying staff when trash compactors are full. The position also requires operating a baler for corrugated materials.This job description is intended as a general guideline and should not be considered an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Humanitarian – Respectful, supportive, and invested in helping others succeed.Qualifications/Requirements:Must be 18 years of age or olderMust be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify.English literate and proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)Must be willing to work mandatory overtime when neededMust be willing and able to submit to pre-employment and random drug testingMust be able to pass all safety training testsMust be able to lift up to 50lbsMust be able to work in a manufacturing environment, including large open production areas with exposure to heavy machinery and motorized vehicles. The role may involve working in extreme temperatures, a fast-paced and noisy setting, and handling occasional high-pressure or stressful situations.Education/Experience/License Requirements:A minimum of 1 year of experience in operations within a factory environment is preferred.Experience operating a forklift or pallet jack is a plus.At least 2 years of experience operating an industrial sewing machine is preferred.Strong familiarity with sourcing foam, fibers, threads, and boxes is highly desirable.Knowledge of quality assurance standards and processes is required.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.Why Join BEDGEAR®?At BEDGEAR®, you'll have the opportunity to contribute beyond a traditional production role.
