Job description

Manufacturing SupervisorHarley-Davidson Motor Company is looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor for their plant in Tomahawk, WI. The plant manufactures, finishes, and ships composite and plastic parts to final assembly plants. The Manufacturing Supervisor will support bargaining unit employees in rotation groups with team leaders in the manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, distribution, and/or development of motorcycles or motorcycle component parts. The Manufacturing Supervisor will provide resources, tools, and direction needed for the value adders to be as effective and efficient as possible. Balances resource complaints to ensure the delivery of products are on time and within budget.Schedule: 1st & 2nd Shift Positions Open1st Shift: ~5:00AM-3:30PM, Monday-Thursday2nd Shift: ~3:30PM-2:00AM, Monday-ThursdaySupervisors typically arrive ~30-minutes early to receive shift handoff and prepare for the evening's production. Occasional overtime is expected based on production needs, which may require staying 1–2 hours beyond the scheduled end time. There may also be occasional Friday or Saturday work, primarily from November through April as production ramps up to build inventory ahead of the heavy sales season. This additional weekend production is infrequent and based on business needs.Job Responsibilities:Support continuous improvement and strive to achieve cost effective resultsHold teams accountable to processes, systems, and resultsParticipate in scheduling and production planningSet the stage for the day (i.e. schedule changes, previous shift performance, quality issues, etc)Work with stewards to prevent and/or resolve issues earlyProvide feedback to team members to ensure good quality throughout the groupEnsure standardized work and process discipline are followedPerform layered audits and prevent passing defects to the next groupEducation Requirements:High School Diploma or Equivalent RequiredAssociate's Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Technology or related field PreferredExperience Requirements:Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experiencePrevious direct supervisory or similar leadership experienceExperience in a unionized high-volume production or manufacturing focused environmentPrior knowledge and/or experience advising high performance work groups and experience with implementation and monitoring of Statistical Process Control systems, ISO90001 processes PreferredAbility to jointly lead work groups with Union leadershipPay Range: $74,700 - $112,100Direct Reports: YesTravel Required: 0 - 10%Relocation: This position is eligible for domestic relocation assistance (within posted country)
