Job description
Manufacturing Team MemberWe're looking for dependable, safety-focused individuals who want to build a rewarding career in manufacturing. Rather than applying directly to a specific position, applying to this role will express interest in a variety of roles throughout our facility, including machine operation, forklift operation, stacking, grading, and others. Candidates selected to be interviewed will meet with us to discuss their experience, interests, and career goals. The interviewers will help identify the role that best matches your skills and strengths.Specific responsibilities will vary depending on which role you are placed in, but common responsibilities include:Setup and changeover machines for daily operation including adjusting heads, jointing, and machine controls.Operating forklifts and performing transactions on a handheld scanner.Sorting, stacking, and grading products.Performing quality checks and inspections on product.Working as a part of a team to meet our customer's needs.Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities will vary depending on which role you are placed in, but common qualifications include:High school diploma or GED preferredReliable attendance and punctualityPositive attitude and strong work ethicInterest in working in a manufacturing environmentBasic mechanical abilitiesPrevious experience operating forklifts or other heavy equipmentBasic computer skillsBasic math skillsThe physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical manufacturing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and is regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and extreme hot and cold temperatures.
