Manufacturing OperatorUnder the direction of lead person or general plant supervision, the person is expected to operate equipment and move product within the area in a manner acceptable to the needs of the business.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet expectations of each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.Experience: 6 months manufacturing experience, preferredOther: Able to read and write legiblyAble to read blueprints, shop drawings, and work from sketchesGood knowledge of shop mathematics, work-in-process, and finished productGood manual dexterity and coordinationPhysically able to lift up to 51 lbs. for approximately 60% of the timeEmployees required to work up to 12 hours shift and more than 40 hours per week as scheduled.Able to work on own initiative without immediate supervisionAble to adjust and use computerized gaugingAbility to attain knowledge of metric dimensionsAble to easily communicate with peopleAbility to walk and stand for the entire shift.Job Duties & Requirements (included but not limited to the following):Set-up and operate a variety of power machinery such as shear, roll, punch, cope, form, robotics, etc. for materials of a standard, semi-standard or special type where frequent and complex set-ups are necessary.Works from blueprints, order pickers, routing tickets, cutting lists, shop drawing, and architect drawings as requiredMust be able to mathematically calculate gauging and set-ups when processing special work and make adjustments accordinglyAttach fire labels (training required) & identification labels as neededCrosstrain with other operators and in other areasMaintain necessary paperwork as requiredMove material into and out of work areaAssess quality of work-in-processPerform shop preventive maintenance duties as assigned.Check status of orders to ensure they are processed properly and on timeEmployees are required to work shifts of up to 12 hours and more than 40 hours/week as scheduled.Other duties as assigned.Machinery & EquipmentPresses (gang, power brake, hydraulic, drill, etc.) shear, spot welder, projection welder, rolling machine, laser, etc.Small tools – tape measure, square, angle protractor, caliper, gauges, wrenches, testing equipment and scalesForklift, hand truck, power ox, and overhead crane (certification required – training and testing provided if needed)MIG welder and grinder
