Job description

Manufacturing Tech / Assembler -- 2nd ShiftThe primary function of the Manufacturing Tech/ Assembler will be to assemble, test, fit and disassemble assemblies or sub-assemblies including but not limited to main steam turbines, valves, gears, generators, pumps, compressors, experimental work, part alterations and repairs.We Take Care of Our People:Paid Time Off I 401K with Employer Match and Profit Sharing I Health and Wellness Benefits I Learning and Development Opportunities I Referral Program I Competitive Pay I Recognition I Employee Stock Purchase Plan I Inclusive & Supportive CultureLocation: Summerville, SCShift: 2nd (3pm-11pm)Hourly: $21.01 – $30.50Sign on Bonus available for select candidates!Please note that the hourly range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in SC. Criteria such as the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.Your Responsibilities:Read and interpret written and verbal work instructions, utilizing detailed part and tool drawings.Set up work areas and machines to perform required operations for any assigned work scope. Obtain all tools, fixtures and relocation equipment to perform work.Follow established operational procedures to perform all functions such as assembly, machine, balance, rivet, etc.Work to close tolerances on interrelated dimensions. Examine work scope noting dimensions, tolerances, required tools and operations. Determine need for inspection to check fits, clearances, etc. prior to, during and after assembly.Notify inspectors as required. Check work and record dimensions or characteristics as required.Setup and operate associated equipment for steam testing and hydrostatic pressure testingWhat you Bring:Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizensMust be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvalsHigh School Diploma or EquivalentAbility to operate material handling equipment and set-up/operate assigned machines and equipmentAbility to read and interpret blueprints, layout and process worksheetsFamiliarity with basic precision measuring equipment such as analog micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, calipers, etcExperience working with a variety of tools and equipment such as lathes, drill presses, mills, riveters, presses, surface grinding, low speed balance, heating equipment, positioners, hand power tools.Ability to maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level and effectively communicate with others.Must demonstrate basic knowledge, skills, and abilities to assembly work and machining.Lifting objects weighing 50 pounds to waist height and transporting a distance of 10 feet.Who we are:Our ValuesEnvironmental, Social and GovernanceWith a long track record of reliable, technologically superior designs and global resources, Steam & Air Solutions (SAS) is the logical choice to meet the Navy's current and future turbine-drive and shipboard compression requirements.
