Manufacturing Technician 2Our company is looking for a Manufacturing Technician 2 to support the Mission Enabling Products (MEP) Business Unit. Within Northrop Grumman's Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division, MEP is a leading designer, producer, and supplier of spacecraft components that power and enable satellites of all classes. Products include spacecraft panels, bus structures, precision optical structures, deployable structural systems and mechanisms, solar arrays, and antenna reflectors. Our products are on virtually every U.S. satellite built in the last 20 years. We are seeking a Test Technician (Level 2) to join our team in Oxnard, CA.Job ResponsibilitiesRun functional, electrical, or mechanical tests on components following written instructionsDocument results, log errors, and report non-conformances to engineers, quality, and manufacturing.Identify and analyze equipment failures or defects during testing. Execute comprehensive component- and system-level test plans, procedures, and test eventsParticipate in test planning and test readiness reviewsAnalyze measurement requirements and equipment measurement tolerancesDefine and maintain documented best practices for test processes and equipmentContribute to maintaining and improving test equipment and infrastructureGathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such component and systems level test results and engineering design changesConduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.Maintains engineering documentation and reports (procedures and test reports)Support internal and external customers' needs.Identify, troubleshoot, and solve test problems and provide assistance with manufacturing, inspection, and test engineering-related issues.Analyze data and provide reports in various customer formats.Must be able to support working multiple shifts; ie: 1st shift 6 am to 3:30 pm and 2nd shift 2:30 pm to MidnightBasic QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent and 3 years' additional education and/or related experience.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, plus experience with multimeters, calipers, or torque wrenchesAttention to detail, ability to spot minor flaws and record accurate data3+ years overall experience as a technician in the manufacturing/engineering fieldAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawingsExperience working with Microsoft Office products and process documentationExperience working in a cleanroom environment and Environmental Test AreaAvailability to work overtime and weekends as neededMust be able to work on feet for extended periods of timeAbility to manipulate equipment weighing up to 50 poundsPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with working around delicate spacecraft hardware an advantageCertification in engineering disciplinesSome college preferred
