Manufacturing Tool RoomWorking as Full-time Manufacturing Tool Room-Carbide Die Finisher/Tool Crib Machinist, you will be responsible for making, altering and repairing a wide range of carbide dies and integrated parts generally for use on heading machines.The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Planning and performing a variety of roughing out, boring, facing, turning, lapping, finishing and grinding operations to make, alter and repair a wide range of carbide dies and integrated parts generally for use on heading machinesFabricating special tools for the Research and Development department occasionallySetting up and operating bench lathe for precise and difficult machining using diamond, diamond dust and paste or other abrasive materialsSelecting, installing and adjusting tool compounds and tail stock and making necessary brass arbors and lapsChecking work with fixed and adjustable measuring instruments to maintain very close tolerances and making necessary adjustments to ensure conformance with specificationsInstructing and/or assisting employees and other operators as neededFollowing all safety rules and regulationsThe following skills and qualifications are required for this position:18 years of age or older, due to the nature of workPrior experience working with machinery and toolingExcellent written and oral communication skillsProficient using Microsoft Office SuiteDemonstrate an excellent safety recordRead and interpret written instructionsDemonstrate basic math skills including decimals and fractionsDesire to continuously improve manufacturing processesDemonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilitiesWork independently as well as in a team environmentDemonstrate strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skillsLearn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environmentDemonstrate strong attention to detail and qualityDemonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamworkLift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbsPass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
