Marine Engine Assemblers assemble many types of recreational marine boat engines with focus on quality, safety and efficiency. This is a fast-paced, on-your-feet position and is ideal for candidates who are mechanically inclined and quality-focused.Essential Job Functions (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):Must be able to follow instructions carefully, including quality procedures, which may require some basic reading skills and the ability to follow diagrams and picturesMust be adept at using machines, air tools, hoists and special processesPerform the same task repeatedlyAssemble engine and electrical parts with bolts, clips, screws, solder, cement, or other fasteners by hand or by using portable power toolsUsing hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.Must be able to conduct assembly in the pre-paint and post-paint sections of the assembly line, as well as staging for pre-assembly, painting, post-paint and shipping.Inspecting fully assembled and/or partially assembled engines, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defectsInstall engines onto, and monitor engine functions on, hot test standsRequired Qualifications:High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experienceHands-on mechanical & fabrication skills to support builds, setups, repairs and maintenanceStrong computer skills in MS OfficeTeam player with ability to mobilize support when necessaryAbility to organize and plan multiple tasks effectivelyNuts & Bolts:Day-1 Benefit coverage: Medical, Dental & Vision401K: 3% Contribution from Ilmor Marine, Roth 401k OptionTools & Uniforms ProvidedPaid Time OffPaid Company HolidaysDay Shift, "4-10s" Monday thru Thursday, 6:30am - 5pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch and two paid breaks.Compensation: Pay rates start at $20/hour based on experience.Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentThe employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand. The employee is frequently required to use their hands and fingers to handle, feel objects, use tools or controls and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electric shock, and explosives.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, some instances of this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
