About this opportunity
Moutonière lists this Marketing Associate opportunity in austin, Texas. Review the employer’s description below for duties, qualifications and application requirements.
Job description
Moutonière is a new luxury house that produces limited‑edition collections designed by contemporary artists and produced by heritage artisans for the modern patron. Since launching our first collection of silk scarves in Paris in 2024, we have expanded into outerwear, bags, silk sets, and fine jewelry, building a world shaped by craftsmanship, artistry, and enduring design.
As we prepare to launch our Spring/Summer 2027 collection and open our first retail location in Austin, almost none of what makes this brand distinctive — how the clothes are made, who makes them, and the people building the company — is being captured or shared consistently. That's what this role exists to fix.
Position Overview
This role sits at the intersection of content production, editing, and brand strategy. Right now, Moutonière's most compelling content is the sourcing and learning process itself — mill visits, fittings, artisan relationships, the process of figuring out how something should be made. When a product associate is on the ground at a leather mill in Florence, you're the one who takes her raw phone footage and turns it into a polished piece within days. As the brand grows, the scope will widen to include photoshoots, founder and team content, and full grid curation — but the near‑term mandate is documenting the process of building the collections.
This is not a role for someone who needs to be told what to post next. You will own the content calendar outright — planning, production, and posting, on schedule, with real creative latitude over how the brand looks and sounds online. We're genuinely open to new formats and ideas — this person will help define what Moutonière's content becomes, not just execute an existing playbook. If the calendar isn't getting delivered, that's a problem with the role's core deliverable, not a shared one.
The ideal candidate has a strong visual eye, is fluent in both video and photo editing, and can operate independently across original production and remote‑capture editing without close direction.
Key Responsibilities
Turn team travel — mill visits, artisan meetings, fabric and material sourcing trips — into the brand's primary content stream, in the vein of a real-time, honest documentation of the process of building each collection
Take footage and photos shot by teammates in the field — for example, a product associate documenting a leather sourcing trip in Florence — and cut it into finished, on‑brand content without having been there yourself
Build a simple, repeatable capture brief so traveling team members know what to shoot before they leave, so raw footage arrives usable rather than unusable
Find the story in the process itself — why this mill, why this material, what almost didn't work — rather than defaulting to generic travel or lifestyle framing
Make sure each trip's content feels organic and specific to what actually happened, not a generic template applied to every location
Organize and maintain the brand's growing footage and photo library so nothing shot on a trip goes unused
Editorial Tone & Craft Standard
Approach every piece as a considered, self‑contained story — not a running travel diary — with a clear point of view: why this material, this maker, this method
Keep the frame on the craft and the decision behind it, not the destination — the work itself is the subject, not the trip
When a founder or team member appears on camera, position them as a guide into the work — narrating and contextualizing — with the camera's attention on the material, the hands, and the process rather than on personality
Bring genuine editorial restraint and production polish to every piece; pacing and composition should read as considered, never casual or dashed-off
Own the content calendar end to end — planning, production, posting — without waiting to be told what's next
Define, own, and evolve the content pillar mix for Instagram and TikTok — anchored in sourcing and process content for now — and keep a consistent, non‑negotiable posting cadence across both
Treat Instagram and TikTok as genuinely different platforms: Instagram as the more polished, editorial cut of the process; TikTok as looser and faster, more native to the platform — same brand, different register
Format Innovation & Third-Party Collaboration
Bring and pitch new content formats as the brand's content needs evolve — short‑form film, animation, artist interviews, and other formats beyond the core pillars — with real latitude to test what works
Source, brief, and manage freelance and third‑party collaborators (editors, animators, filmmakers, interviewers) for formats that require specialized skill sets beyond in‑house capacity
Scope and manage these collaborations end to end — timeline, deliverables, and budget — and evaluate whether a new format earns a permanent place in the content mix
Original Production (Growing Over Time)
As the brand's content needs grow, attend photoshoots as production support and behind‑the‑scenes shooter — capturing the hero shots' BTS counterpart in real time
In time, shoot and edit founder and team content that extends the same honest, process‑driven storytelling to the rest of the business
Curate the Instagram grid as a whole, not post‑by‑post — pacing, color story, and rhythm across the feed, as the volume of content grows
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience creating content for a consumer, fashion, or lifestyle brand — in‑house, freelance, or agency
Strong portfolio demonstrating both original shooting (photo and video) and editing skill, with examples that show restraint and a considered point of view rather than high‑volume, low‑craft output
Proficiency in video and photo editing tools (e.g., Premiere Pro, CapCut, Lightroom, or equivalents)
Demonstrated eye for Instagram grid curation — composition, color story, and pacing across a feed, not just individual posts
Comfort working independently and taking creative ownership without close direction
Experience briefing and managing freelancers or outside collaborators (editors, animators, filmmakers, or similar) against a timeline and budget
Willingness to travel occasionally for shoots and sourcing trips
Strong Plus
Prior experience building content for a DTC or luxury consumer brand
Experience directing or producing on photoshoots, not just capturing BTS content
Exposure to short‑form film, animation, or interview‑style content, and interest in expanding into these formats
A personal creative practice (photography, filmmaking, or similar) that shows a distinct visual point of view
Familiarity with fashion, craft, or luxury goods content specifically
Personal Attributes / "Who You Are"
You have a genuine eye — you know what a great frame looks like before you shoot it, and you spot the real moment in a room full of ordinary ones
You have editorial restraint — you instinctively know the difference between a considered piece and something that reads as casual, and you default to the former
You think in images and video, not words — this is a visual role; long‑form writing is handled elsewhere
You take ownership without needing to be managed closely — you'd rather propose the plan than wait for instructions
You're excited to do this constantly and enthusiastically, not just competently — this brand's content output depends on someone who loves the work
Process‑oriented; you can build a repeatable system for capturing and editing content rather than reinventing it each time
Comfortable managing up and coordinating with founders and teammates across shifting schedules and travel
Why This Role
This is a rare opportunity to define the visual identity of a growing luxury brand at a genuinely formative moment — one runway away from a major collection launch, a retail opening, and a significant inflection in scale.
You will have more creative ownership and visibility here than you would have in years at a larger company or agency. You'll shape how this brand is seen by the world, working directly with the founders and with real latitude over strategy, not just execution. The role offers direct exposure to every stage of building a luxury house — from artisan production to campaign shoots to retail — and the chance to build the content function that will define how this company tells its story for years to come.
This is a full‑time W‑2 position based in Austin, Texas, in‑office at Moutonière's studio and showroom just off South Congress, with travel for shoots and sourcing trips.
Benefits Include:
Vision insurance
Direct collaboration with founders
Real creative ownership from day one
Opportunity to help build the visual identity of an emerging luxury house from the ground up
