Job description
Marshalling Yard RepresentativeThe Marshalling Yard Representative performs pertinent duties including scaling freight trucks, entering necessary exhibitor information into data base to create inbound and outbound show history, controlling carrier traffic to and from venues, and capturing revenue through freight billing. This role is important to the business to ensure the efficient move-in and move-out of all freight in larger venues and to ensure all possible freight revenue is captured and billed appropriately.Responsibilities:Scale trucksInput freight information into Core Freight to create receiving reports and outbound driver recordsOutbound show site data entryDispatch trucks to show venuePerform freight audits/prior year drayage comparisonsPerform billing transfersRun Core Freight reports during and after showSupport other Freight Operations Staff as neededKeep Managers informed on all issues.Assist with freight inquiriesUphold high standard departmental relations and service levelsQualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredDemonstrable leadership abilityMust be proficient in MS Office programs and have strong typing/data entry skillsMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with little supervisionMust be able to perform work in office setting and on trade show floor in varied conditions and elementsMust be able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and to complete highest priorities first.Team orientedAbility to build relationships with both internal and external clientsStrong organizational, problem-solving skillsAttention to detailAbility to multi-taskStrong written and verbal communication skillsTwo to three years in a customer service environmentTwo to three years of experience in the convention industry highly preferredWork Environment:Work is performed frequently in a somewhat crowded or noisy area where there may be mild discomfort due to temperature, dust or other conditions.Must be able to work extended hours based on schedule- includes weekends and eveningsJob requires walking, bending, handling, reaching, grasping, lifting 25+ lbs., and repetitive motionsJob requires long hours during show runs with varying stop and start time both early AM and late PMRequires working alone at times and also with others in a team atmosphereWill work with and report to multiple managers both in a city and national levelOur team members are our family, so we help our team members care for their families.
