Today we build on this legacy by creating deep connections in a world challenged by disconnection and isolation; reigniting awe and wonder to spark greater curiosity about ourselves and others; and asking the questions that can lead to transformative change both for an individual and society.Esalen isn't just a place to work, it's an invitation to help change the world.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide excellent bodywork servicesWork 2 days per week (Saturdays and Sundays), 3-4 sessions per day at specific session times agreed upon with Healing Arts managementConduct self in a professional manner with clients and co-workersKeep work area clean and professionalKeep all paperwork current: permits, licensure, and insuranceAdhere to Healing Arts department and role guidelines, expectations, and policiesDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and peersBe responsive to managementOther various tasks as assignedQualificationsCertified in Esalen massage with at least 2 years of professional massage experience preferredMassage license certification through CAMTCProof of current liability insurance policyIf new to the Esalen Healing Arts crew, must give 4+ evaluation sessions to designated Healing Arts staffA passion for exceptional serviceAbility to provide references and appropriate documentation of experienceGood listening and communications skillsHigh level of client relations experience, supporting a safe environment and a caring experience for our guests, following ethics for practitioner best practicesEmbrace a strong work ethic and teamwork focus, with flexibility and willingness to support others and maintain a professional workplacePossess a good understanding of the physical body, how to evaluate, assess, and support client needsSelf care: knowledge and practice of a personalized self care program, utilizing good body mechanics and regularly practicing effective self care methodsFocus on maintaining up-to-date skills & techniques and applying new knowledgeFlexibilityEsalen functions best when all staff work toward the common mission of encouraging everyone to reach our highest human potential. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice based on Esalen's and your team's needs.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to maneuver on uneven ground; stand for long periods of time; lift up to 30 pounds; and daily press, push, pull, grasp, lift, bend, squat, and turn as it pertains to giving a massage.CompensationIn alignment with Esalen's mission in advancing human potential, staff are encouraged to engage in a wide range of personal and professional development programs designed by Esalen faculty and staff.$76 - $87 an hour *Based on a 1.5 hour session rate.
