nAutos of Chicago is one of the largest independent dealerships in the Chicagoland area, with over 500 vehicles in inventory, a full-service repair facility, and a growing collision center. We're looking for an experienced Shop Foreman to lead our technicians, improve shop productivity, and maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
nPosition Summary
nThe Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily workflow of the service department, supporting technicians with diagnostics and repairs, ensuring quality control, and helping the Service Manager maximize shop productivity and customer satisfaction.
nResponsibilities
nSupervise and support automotive technicians throughout the repair process.
nDispatch repair orders efficiently based on technician skill level and workload.
nAssist technicians with complex diagnostics and difficult repairs.
nEnsure repairs are completed correctly the first time.
nPerform final quality control inspections before vehicles are released.
nMonitor technician productivity and efficiency.
nMaintain a clean, safe, and organized shop.
nCoordinate with Service Advisors regarding repair status, delays, and additional repair recommendations.
nHelp reduce comebacks through proper repair procedures and quality inspections.
nEnsure compliance with manufacturer repair procedures and shop policies.
nAssist in training and mentoring technicians.
nMonitor shop equipment and report maintenance needs.
nQualifications
nMinimum 5 years of automotive repair experience.
nPrevious experience as a Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, or Master Technician preferred.
nStrong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
nASE Certifications preferred.
nLeadership and team management experience.
nExcellent communication and organizational skills.
nValid driver's license with a clean driving record.
nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.
