Material Control CoordinatorMethods Machine Tools was established in 1958 with three employees and a handful of refurbished machines. Since then, the company has become one of the largest privately owned machine tool importers in North America.The Material Control Coordinator will be responsible for providing support for our Production, Turnkey, and Automation teams. This role works closely with Assembly, Engineering, Project Management, and Purchasing to ensure materials are available when needed, inventory records remain accurate, and projects stay on schedule and within budget. The successful candidate will play a key role in material flow, inventory control, project support, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.Key Responsibilities:Coordinate material deliveries and availability to support production and project build schedules.Issue and unissue materials to jobs and projects within the ERP system as required.Maintain accurate inventory records and material transaction documentation.Monitor material shortages and communicate potential risks to project and production teams.Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation.Assist with material staging and organization to ensure efficient production workflows.Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Project Management to resolve material-related issues.Support cost control initiatives by tracking material usage and identifying opportunities for process improvements.Assist with project and job closeout activities, ensuring material, labor, and inventory records are complete and accurate.Provide backup support for project administration and related operational functions as needed.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.Required Qualifications & Skills:High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.2+ years of experience in material handling, inventory control, manufacturing, or project coordination.Experience in a manufacturing, automation, machinery, or machine tool environment preferred.Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneTravel Requirements:NonePhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs as needed.Frequent standing, bending, and working with hands for extended periods.Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and conditions.Compliance with PPE and safety requirements.This job description is designed to provide an overview of basic skills, experiences and education required to perform the job and is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee to perform the essential functions of the job.
