Material Planner

General Description

* Manage material supply chain to meet production requirements and operational needs.

* The material planner places appropriate purchase orders to suppliers for the needed resources.

Responsibilities

* The primary responsibility is to manage supply line material while meeting production needs.

* Issue purchase order to supplier based on terms and lead time.

* Maintain appropriate material inventory level based on safety stock and component level.

* Reports potential short stock issues and remedy plan in daily production meeting.

* Ensure materials arrives on-time and properly establishes appropriate inventory levels for the supply chain.

* Support Service Production by placing appropriate orders for service related material

* Managing engineering changes and build-out schedules to minimize obsolescence.

* Expedite part shortages with shortage root cause investigation and resolution. Utilizes expedite shipping methods through manager approval process for addressing potential short stock issues.

* Provide direct material payable documentation and detail.

Job Requirements

Work Experience

* Manufacturing and production environment

* Business administration and logistics

* Knowledgeable of shipping procedures and requirements

* Education

* BS Business Administration, Logistics, or Operations Management

* Adequate computer software skills or equivalent training

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Strong autonomous ability to problem solving.

* Able to work under pressure and independently.

* Ability to communicate effectively, internally and externally, at all levels

* Able to identify and resolve critical paths in the manufacturing processes.

* Willing to make difficult and tough decisions.

* SAP & WMS software
