Because we believe that your career path should be as unique as you are.Group Summary:The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.Recognized globally as an innovator in all aspects of vehicle exteriors, Magna provides everything needed, from materials development and design through manufacturing and assembly, to help automakers create sleek, state-of-the-art vehicles across the world.Job Responsibilities:Materials and Logistics Manager wanted in Piedmont, South Carolina to develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely sourcing of raw materials, components, and supplies, aligning with company production schedules and budget constraints; oversee inventory management processes, including stock control, demand forecasting, and replenishment to minimize excess inventory and stockouts; coordinate and manage the transportation of goods domestically and internationally, selecting carriers, negotiating shipping rates, and ensuring adherence to delivery schedules; manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping, while maintaining safety and efficiency standards; establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and logistics providers to ensure the procurement and delivery of quality materials at competitive prices; monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, generating reports to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction; ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and company policies related to materials handling and logistics; collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production, quality assurance, and finance to synchronize supply chain activities with organizational goals; implement and utilize ERP and inventory management software systems (e.g., SAP, QAD) to track procurement, inventory levels, and logistics operations; lead and oversee projects related to supply chain optimization, warehouse layout redesign, or implementation of new logistics technologies; prepare and manage budgets for procurement and logistics activities, ensuring cost-effective operations; conduct risk assessments related to supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans; train and supervise logistics staff and warehouse personnel, promoting adherence to safety procedures and operational standards; and stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting supply chain management. Develop material planning and procurement strategies for automotive components manufacturer; use knowledge of end-to-end supply chain for automotive components manufacturer; use ERP systems, SAP, MM, SCM, Oracle ERP Cloud, MPP and supply chain management platform SAP. Requires 36 months of related experience as a Materials and Logistics Manager, Materials Manager, Planning Supervisor, or Sr. Material Planner.
