This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at an important time of growth and transformation as we work together to build a strong future for healthcare in the community.Materials Clerk manages the medical and office supplies for the hospital and receives all supplies into the building and disperses to the proper department. This position is a non-essential position at the facility to ensure efficient operations and patient care. Employees hired into a non-essential positions are not expected to report to work for their scheduled shifts in the event of the environmental weather or dangerous road conditions that may exist.Position Duties and Responsibilities:Interfaces with department directors to assist with planning/forecasting the department's needsMaintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet department requirementsEnsures the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for patient careOversees the supply & delivery of materialsUnboxes deliveries/stocks departments with suppliesReceives individual items in purchase orders and stock.Checks in supplies in a timely mannerHas a cost-conscious attitude to time usage, materials and suppliesPerforms duties with little or no supervisionFacility General Responsibilities:Attend facility new hire orientation as scheduled by HRComplete department orientation initial competency within 7 days of hire dateComplete department initial skills competency within 90 days of hire dateFollow facility and OSHA safety rules and proceduresRespect cultural and religious practices of patients from all backgroundsFollow HIPAA regulations at all timesBe punctual and dependable for assigned shiftsDress within the dress code requirements of the facilityFollows hospital wide and department specific policies and proceduresMust interact with physicians, guests, staff, and patients pleasantly, cooperatively, and effectivelyMust pass drug screens, both pre-employment and throughout duration of employmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong organizational and time management skillsKnowledge of healthcare processes and supply chain managementGood communications skills – both verbal and writtenSolid critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to perform under stress and cope with difficult situationsProficiency in Microsoft Office and material management systemsSolid computer skillsAbility to multi-taskPerforms duties with little or no supervisionPosition Requirements: Education, Work Experience, Licensure, Certifications:High School Graduate or EquivalentOne year experience in a hospital or medically related environment is preferredWorking Conditions:Will spend a considerable amount of time walking, bending, stretching, standing, and lifting materials; therefore, proper body mechanics to guard against injury must be followed. Must be able to work accurately around frequent interruptions. Must be knowledgeable of department equipment, supplies and instrumentation. Must not require supervision and is able to work on their own and make decisions in a timely manner.Physical Requirements / Demands:Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds.
