Job description
Shipping And Receiving ManagerAssigns work, ensuring that work is flowing as planned through Shipping and Receiving, and ensuring that materials are shipped and received in a reasonable time so that production is not hindered. Provide training to new associates and to existing associates on new procedures, equipment and products.Essential Functions:Assist in the timely processing of all outbound material issues, all incoming material receipts, and all types of inventory control transactions used in these processes.Resolve data accuracy problems associates with the shipping and receiving process quickly.Perform filing activities per department requirements.Process receipts, match paperwork, and send to accounting per the accounting guidelines.Build relationships with the customers and transportation companies to create a team environment.Meet with associate(s) when necessary to coach, counsel, or confront issues.Process all inventory transactions in a manner consistent with accounting guidelines and the departmental standards of performance.Interface with internal personnel to insure an acceptable solution is derived to properly address situations pertaining to data discrepancies and lost time.Insure that necessary tools and equipment are ready and available to meet schedules. Prepare instructions for daily PM's and periodic equipment maintenance (forklifts, reach trucks).Assist associates in achieving goals in safety, quality, and accountability while ensuring associates stay productive.Assist Materials Department in ensuring that materials are accounted for (WTS, DTSLOC, Warehouse).Schedule vacations and enter necessary date in the KRONOS system.Understand and implement MOS objectives to increase productivity.Education and Training:Associates Degree or equivalent experience required.Minimum Qualifications:5 years' experience in material handling or shipping and receiving preferred.Knowledge of MRP II concepts, practices, and procedures helpful.Good interpersonal skills and must be able to work with minimal supervision.Minimum 6 month as Line Leader (any department)Physical Demands:Constant sitting, grasping and fine manipulationOccasional balancing and pinchingMinimal standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing and reachingLifting up to 5 lbs.Carrying up to 5 lbs. at a distance up to 25 feetPush/Pull 10 force lbs. up to 5 feetEnvironmental Conditions:Work Environment: Office/AdministrativeLighting: AdequateVentilation: AdequateTemperature: Temperature Controlled with AC/Heat.Behavioral Traits:Results orientedSelf-motivatedCommunication skillsAttention to detailHands on, systematic individualExcellent analytical problem-solving skillsExcellent organization skillsStrong leadership qualities: able to motivate others to achieve goals through hands-on, systematic coaching and facilitationWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
