Materials CoordinatorHiring Now for Materials Coordinator in Durham, North Carolina GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Materials Manager is responsible for ensuring the facility has the supplies, instruments, equipment, and vendor support needed for daily operations. In the materials management capacity, the employee manages vendor relationships, purchasing, receiving, inventory control, par levels, equipment coordination, and supply distribution to meet patient care and operational needs promptly and efficiently. Why join Us?Award Winning Hospital for Special Surgery5 Star CMS rated facility for patient experiencePositive Work cultureCareer growth opportunitiesComprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, Life and Disability InsuranceTelemedicine/You have access to Physicians 24/7/365 through MDLIVEPaid Time Off401k Employer MatchTuition AssistanceEssential Job Functions:Receives, processes and stocks/distributes incoming orders according to departmental procedures.Collects, restocks and returns supply carts in conjunction with the Nursing Service Department personnel.Arranges and rotates items on shelves.Fills stock requisitions from user departments and delivers to the appropriate location.Assists as needed in the pick-up and delivery of items outside the hospital.Processes outbound shipping documents and packages; processes returns to vendors.Adheres to all Hospital Policies and Procedures, specifically Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct, Corporate Compliance, Diversity, and Confidentiality.Complies with National Patient Safety Goals.Universal precautions and infection control guidelines, including hand washing guidelines followed at all times.Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment.Applies the principles and values of customer service and continuous quality improvement while performing day-to-day activities of the position.Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care, personnel and strategic issues.Adheres to Confidentiality Policy.Maintains positive working relationships and fosters cooperative work environment.Adheres to the hospital's "Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct" in the HR Manual.Displays honesty and mutual respect when communicating with peers and other departments.Follows through on problems that may compromise effective job performance by using appropriate chain of command.Demonstrates respect for diverse backgrounds of all patients, families and co-workers.Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties in this job classificationIdentifies potential risks to patients: identifies risks to patients in order to reduce incidence of injury; identifies actions to eliminate, minimize or report risks; identifies procedures to follow in the event of an incident; reports processes for common problems, failures and user errors.Education, Experience, Skills:High school diploma or equivalent.One (1) to (3) months related experience and/or training.Effective communication skills; both orally and written.Computer skills needed.Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.Strong problem-solving skills.Experience in a hospital settingLawson MM system experienceEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
