Job description

Materials CoordinatorPlunkett's Pest Control, a family-owned company with over 100 years of history, is adding a Materials Coordinator to our Operations team at our warehouse in Fridley, MN. You'll receive and ship materials, keep inventory accurate, and keep everyone in the loop on stock levels and order status. You'll also lead and train our Materials Associates and help build the processes that keep our warehouse running smoothly. This role is a great fit for an organized, hands-on leader who loves keeping things moving and finding better ways to get the job done.What You'll DoReceive and process purchase orders for materials and equipment, checking quantities, condition, and accuracyKeep inventory records up to date, including stock levels, backorders, and discrepanciesFlag receiving issues, shortages, or damaged materials right awayPick, pack, and ship materials and equipment to technicians and branches using approved carriersCoordinate drop shipments directly to technicians or locations when neededMake sure every shipment is accurate, properly labeled, and sent out on timeShare stock availability, ETAs, and material issues with internal teamsWork with our Technical Director on replacements for damaged, lost, or defective materialsPartner with purchasing, operations, and equipment teams to keep field service running without interruptionSupervise, train, and coach Materials Associates, providing daily direction and feedbackSupport onboarding and cross-training so the warehouse always has coverageWrite and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving, shipping, and inventorySpot opportunities to improve processes and recommend updatesHelp build a positive, accountable, and safety-focused warehouse cultureWhat You'll NeedExperience in warehouse operations, inventory coordination, or materials managementStrong organization skills and attention to detailAbility to follow, write, and explain standard processesClear written and verbal communication skillsComfort with basic computer systems, including inventory software, email, and spreadsheetsAbility to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentA valid driver's license with a clean driving recordPreferred, but not required:Experience supporting field service, logistics, or multi-location operationsFamiliarity with shipping carriers and drop shippingExperience creating SOPs or training materialsForklift experience or willingness to get certifiedSchedule and Physical RequirementsDaytime hours, with occasional extended hours based on customer needsRegularly lift, push, or pull items over 50 lbs, with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and twistingFrequent use of a forklift, powered hand tools, and warehouse equipmentWork in a warehouse environment that may include noise, dust, cleaning chemicals, and changes in temperatureOccasional use of a company vehicle, ladders, and a respiratorWhat We OfferHealth insurance with a $0 deductible, plus dental and vision coverage401(k) with company-sponsored retirement programPaid time off and paid holidaysCareer growth and continuous professional developmentA stable, family-owned company with over 100 years of serviceOur Core FourWe live by these values, and you will too:Leave No Doubt You Care: Put people first and solve problems with empathy.Own It: Be accountable, follow through, and take pride in your work.Grow to Control Our Destiny: Seek opportunities to grow and improve every day.Shape Our Legacy: Improve what you touch and help carry forward our 100+ years of service excellence.Note: As a Materials Coordinator with Plunkett's, you will undergo a pre-employment background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check upon receiving an employment offer.Plunkett's is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
