Materials Specialist (South)We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Materials Specialist (South) in our Pewaukee, Wisconsin location. This position is represented by Local 2150. The Material Specialist is responsible for warehouse activities within a distribution center as well as at remote warehouses. This position offers a variety of work that will appeal to those that are interested in learning, problem solving, able to work within a team environment, and are willing to take initiative. Benefits include: Medical/Dental/Vision Plan, 401K Plan, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, etc. Hours: This is a 2nd shift shift position: 3:30 pm – 12:00 am.Job Responsibilities:Perform all duties related to warehouse and storage yard operationsFulfill daily orders, receive, put away, restock and disburse materials utilizing the current ERP systemPre-load/stage material. Inspect trailers for correct loading proceduresRequisition and assist with procurement process when necessaryRecognize and report damage and/or incorrect shipment of materialEvaluate, prepare and account for returned materials including jobsite and field returnsIdentify and reclaim materials fit to be returned to stock or scrapped, sold or another means of dispositionAssist with inventory accuracyConducts physical inventory countsResolve problems with storage locations and labelingInitiate, investigate, verify, report and correct discrepanciesAssist the Materials Management group in maintaining adequate inventory levelsEnsure material shelf life is regularly updatedMaintain recordsEnsure proper accounting is applied to all transactionsPerform required housekeeping tasks. Keep storage areas clean and in an orderly conditionInspect for improper storage of material and remedy problem situations promptlyIdentify unsafe conditions and promptly initiate action to correct the situationOperate and inspect a variety of material handling equipment including but not limited to forklifts, and CDL rated vehiclesIncorporate safe handling techniques for oversized, heavy and/or unique materialsKnow and follow all DOT rules and regulationsProvide onsite customer serviceMinimum Qualifications:Three years of warehouse and powered industrial truck experience or an Order Picker with greater than one year of experience requiredApplicant must have a valid driver's license and meet the company's requirements for drivingSome business units will require selected applicants to obtain an interstate commercial driver's license (CDL, Class B) within 90 days of entry into the jobThis position may require unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigationCandidates may be required to demonstrate their ability to perform the physical functions of the position by completing a Physical Capacity EvaluationThe selected applicant must reside within 40 driving miles of their headquarters.
