Job description
Apply advanced mathematics and Python programming to create, solve, review, and validate rigorous training tasks for AI systems. This fully remote contract role focuses on turning mathematical problems into reproducible, command-line-based computational workflows.
Key Responsibilities Create, solve, review, and validate advanced mathematical and computational tasks.
Translate mathematical requirements into precise, executable procedures.
Implement equations and algorithms with Python and command-line-accessible tools.
Automate calculations, numerical experiments, parameter sweeps, visualizations, and result validation.
Test special cases and confirm that final results are mathematically and numerically sound.
Qualifications Master''s or PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computational Science, Theoretical Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field, or a bachelor''s degree in Mathematics or a related quantitative field plus 1 to 2 years of mathematics-focused professional or research experience at leading companies or institutions.
Strong expertise in at least one area such as applied mathematics, numerical analysis, optimization, probability, statistics, discrete mathematics, algebra, geometry, mathematical modeling, or dynamical systems.
Experience with Python and programmatic mathematical tools such as SymPy, SageMath, SciPy, CVXPY, NumPy, GNU Octave, Julia, or comparable command-line-accessible software.
Familiarity with relevant Python tools may include NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, pandas, Matplotlib, Jupyter, CVXPY, statsmodels, NetworkX, numerical solvers, optimization libraries, or domain-specific scientific packages. No single library is required.
Work Terms Global, fully remote independent contractor engagement.
Approximately 15 hours per week, with flexibility to choose working days and hours, including weekends, provided you remain active.
Roles are typically filled within 48 hours. Selected candidates should be ready to begin their first task within 24 to 48 hours after onboarding.
Compensation Compensation is stated as $60 to $120 per hour, with detailed role terms listing $80 to $120 per hour.
Payment is output-based and paid per task that meets project specifications. Task completion time varies by experience and workflow, and minimum submission requirements apply.
