Job Description Job Description The Mattress Builder is responsible for assembling mattresses from component materials according to production specifications, quality standards, and safety guidelines. This is a physically demanding , hands-on production role requiring stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work at a fast pace for extended shifts. Training and instructions will be provided in a manner understandable to the employee; English fluency is not required for this position.
This role offers consistent overtime hours, giving motivated employees the opportunity to significantly increase their weekly earnings beyond a standard 40-hour schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assemble mattress components (foam, coils, fabric, borders, handles, etc.) according to build specifications and work orders
Operate hand tools and production equipment (staple guns, tape edge machines, quilting machines, etc.) as required by the build process
Inspect materials and finished units for defects, damage, or inconsistencies before and after assembly
Lift, carry, position, and flip mattress components and finished units throughout the build process
Maintain consistent pace and output to meet daily production quotas
Follow all safety protocols and proper lifting techniques (visual/demonstrated training provided)
Keep work area clean, organized, and free of hazards
Communicate production issues, material shortages, or equipment problems to the supervisor
Perform other production-related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Ability to work a 6:00 a.m. start time , with shifts running up to 12 hours based on production completion
Ability to stand, bend, twist, and reach for the entire shift
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 75-100 lbs regularly throughout the shift, with or without assistance from a coworker or equipment
Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and overhead reaching
Manual dexterity for handling tools, staples, and fasteners
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding production environment
Comfortable working around machinery and warehouse/production floor conditions (noise, dust, temperature variation)
Qualifications
No English proficiency required
Prior experience in manufacturing, warehouse, upholstery, or assembly-line work preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Open availability to take full advantage of overtime hours and extra earnings
