Job description
Join our team in Lafayette, CO, a vibrant community nestled in the heart of Colorado, offering a perfect blend of outdoor adventure and urban amenities. As a Packaging Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in the development and testing of packaging solutions for our Medical Surgical products.
Top 3 Technical Skills Required
Prepare packaging validation protocols and reports to support packaging changes per ISO 11607 and ASTM standards.
Identify and lead cost reduction opportunities in regards to Packaging.
Provide technical support and training to manufacturing in regards to packaging systems and machinery.
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in Packaging, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Work Schedule and Location
Full-time position, 40 hours a week. 100% onsite at Lafayette campus.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test a wide variety of containers used for the protection, display, and handling of products.
Determine packaging specifications according to the nature of the product, cost limitations, legal requirements, and the type of protection required.
Design package exteriors considering factors such as product identification, sales appeal, aesthetic quality, printing, and production techniques.
Manage documentation and coordinate Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Support prototype line development in manufacturing facilities/plants.

Required Knowledge and Experience
Practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within the job area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Requires a University Degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
