Mechanic III – AssemblyExpress Employment Professionals is seeking a Mechanic III – Assembly for a dynamic, physically demanding role centered on mechanical assembly and material handling, grounded in rigorous standards and safety. It offers diverse work within multiple manufacturing environments, skill development pathways, and aligns with the client's values and quality-driven culture.Schedule: 3rd shift 10 pm-6:30 am $18/h. (Weekends worked as needed. Mandatory overtime.)Position OverviewFull-time, typically part of 1st shift operationsIntegral member of the assembly team, responsible for assembling mechanical units following standardized work proceduresRoles may flex across departments or workstations as needed by production demandsPrincipal ResponsibilitiesAssemble mechanical support units safely and precisely, meeting daily production goalsOperate material-handling equipment—JIB cranes, pallet jacks, forklifts—to lift, move, and position componentsFabricate units following blueprints and shop drawingsAssist with replenishment and organization of the work area; maintain 5S standardsComplete in-process inspections and necessary paperworkAdhere strictly to safety protocols for tools and personal protective equipment (PPE)Actively learn and develop technical/mechanical skills; flex across tasks as neededRequired Skills & QualificationsProficiency in basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimalsExperience using handheld measuring tools: tape measures, micrometers, protractorsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and reference drawingsCompetency in operating small power tools: drills, nail guns, impact wrenchesCertification to operate JIB cranes; experience with forklifts and pallet jacksStrong English communication skills (written and verbal)Thorough understanding of safety guidelines and machinery handlingWorking Conditions & Physical RequirementsStanding and walking up to 80% of the shift; bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching frequentlyFrequent lifting of up to ~50 poundsExposure to manufacturing noise, fluctuating indoor/outdoor temperatures, and yard/dock operationsTypical schedule: 40 hours/week, occasionally including weekends and scheduled overtimeCulture & GrowthRole embodies the Client's values: Earning Trust, Embracing Responsibility, Showing Courage, Driving InnovationOpportunities to upskill and grow toward technical expertiseMay rotate among assembly, shipping/crating, coil fabrication, or other departmentsWork environment supports continuous learning and cross-functional teamwork
