Mechanic
Position at Ruppert Landscape Maintenance

As a Mechanic on our in-house fleet team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and servicing a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including diesel/gas trucks, commercial mowers, and two-cycle equipment. This role is essential in upholding our company's image and keeping our operations teams working safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment, including power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers, and other landscape tools
Recondition vehicles and equipment twice a year to ensure they meet company image standards and are safe, reliable, and ready for use
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
Accurately document and maintain service and repair records
Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and communication
Assist with other operational tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
A safety-first mindset with a commitment to adhering to safety regulations and promoting safe work practices
Minimum of three years of hands-on mechanical experience
Strong mechanical aptitude, especially with gas/diesel vehicles and landscaping equipment
Ability to supply personal tools as needed to perform the role
Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the organization
Strong communication and organizational skills
Keen attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
Experience with diesel engines and bilingual ability (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required
Reports To: Shop Manager
Reporting Location: North Charleston, SC
Schedule: Monday-Friday, averaging approximately 40-45 hours per week, based on business needs.
