nWe are looking for a Mechanic I to join our Catalyst team in Attapulgus, GA.

nBASF’s Catalysts division is the global market leader in catalyst technologies. The division develops and produces mobile emissions catalysts as well as process catalysts and offers precious metals trading, recycling and related products and services. The BASF Attapulgus, Georgia site manufactures catalyst for the global refining industry.
nThe incumbent in this position will provide maintenance mechanical support to BASF Attapulgus Operations with a Safety First mindset. The incumbent will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment. They will use a variety of hand tools, such as hammers, wrenches, sockets, pliers, and impacts for equipment repair; equipment for welding and cutting for fabrication; as well as calipers, measuring tapes, torque wrenches and lasers for precision maintenance.
nDuring your shift as a Mechanic I, you will
nnnDiagnose troubleshoot, plan and perform all mechanical operations necessary to modify, dismantle, repair industrial equipment
n
nnOverhaul and repair all types of difficult and complicated plant machinery and equipment including centrifugal pumps, gearboxes, filter belts, fans and other machinery
n
nnProcess and special equipment involving layout and development
n
nnPerform work in the mechanic's skill area such as fabrication, assembly, welding, burning, cutting and pipefitting.
n
nnInspect work for quality and dimensional requirements.
n
n nIf you...
nnnHave a HS Diploma or GED with 5 years of Industrial Mechanic experience OR have a 2 year Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance and 3 years of experience in an Industrial Mechanic position
n
nnAre willing and able to work on-call as required (day/night/weekend/holidays/on call)
n
nnCan lift up to 50 lbs, carrying up to 25 lbs.
n
nnAre familiar with Mechanical Rotating Equipment systems and pipefitting
n
n nCreate your own chemistry with
nThis position is part of the United Steel Workers (USW) Union and is covered under the collective bargaining agreement. All benefits are outlined in this agreement.
