Mechanical AssemblerWabtec is now hiring for a mechanical assembler in Buffalo Grove, IL. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour for a 1st shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Experience assembling mechanical, hydraulic, or electro-mechanical equipment. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and testing equipment. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow standard operating procedures and quality requirements. Ability to work independently and within a team environment to meet production goals.Preferred qualifications include experience with hydraulic systems, lifts, ramps, or electro-mechanical assemblies. Knowledge of quality inspection, testing procedures, and product troubleshooting. Experience reviewing engineering drawings and assembly documentation. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and report production issues. Manufacturing, assembly, or industrial equipment experience in a fast-paced environment.Physical capabilities include regularly lifting and moving up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday. Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks using hands and arms. Strong visual acuity, including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision. Comfortable working in a manufacturing and production environment.Job duties include assembling hydraulic lifts, ramps, and electro-mechanical products throughout various stages of production, including final assembly. Install and test moving components such as shafts, bearings, levers, and related mechanical parts. Inspect components and completed assemblies to ensure quality and compliance with specifications. Read and follow blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly instructions. Test, adjust, and troubleshoot products to ensure proper performance and functionality. Support engineering and production teams with testing, data collection, and product improvements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety standards.
