Lead Mechanical AssemblerThomson Power Systems is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Assembler to provide technical leadership for the mechanical assembly operations supporting our switchgear and power distribution products.This role combines hands-on assembly responsibilities with coaching, training, troubleshooting, and process improvement activities.Position OverviewAs a Lead Mechanical Assembler, you will serve as the technical expert and coach for mechanical assembly operations. You will support the development of team members while ensuring products are built according to engineering specifications, quality standards, and production schedules.You will play a critical role in developing assembler capability and helping establish best-in-class mechanical assembly practices within the Arlington facility.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical LeadershipServe as the subject matter expert for mechanical assembly operationsInterpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and bills of materialSupport complex assemblies and troubleshooting activitiesVerify products meet engineering and customer requirementsAssist employees with assembly techniques and best practicesCoaching & Employee DevelopmentTrain new Mechanical Assemblers on assembly standards and proceduresConduct hands-on demonstrations of proper assembly techniquesCross-train employees across multiple processesEvaluate skill development and recommend training needsEncourage continuous learning and professional growthProduction ExecutionSupport daily production goals and schedulesCoordinate workflow within the assigned areaHelp resolve material, process, and assembly issuesAssist supervisors with manpower planning and resource allocationEnsure standard work is executed consistentlyQuality & Continuous ImprovementPromote first-pass quality and error preventionLead problem-solving activities related to assembly issuesParticipate in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiativesSupport the development of visual standards and standardized workRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED4+ years of mechanical assembly experienceAbility to read engineering drawings and mechanical blueprintsExperience working with hand tools, power tools, and torque equipmentExperience reading and working from bills of materialStrong troubleshooting and coaching abilityPreferred QualificationsPrior Lead Assembler experienceSwitchgear or electrical equipment manufacturing experienceLean Manufacturing trainingExperience supporting plant start-ups or new product launchesWhat Success Looks LikeAssemblies are built right the first timeTeam capability increases through coaching and trainingMechanical quality issues decline over timeStandard work is consistently followedEmployees advance into higher-skilled positionsShift: Mon-Thur/Tue-Fri 5:45AM-4:15PMPayBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug CoverageSpending accounts (HSA, Health Care FSA and Dependent Care FSA)Paid Time Off and Holidays401k Retirement Plan with Matching Employer ContributionsLife and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) InsurancePaid LeavesTuition AssistanceAbout Regal RexnordRegal Rexnord is a publicly held global industrial manufacturer with 30,000 associates around the world who help create a better tomorrow by providing sustainable solutions that power, transmit and control motion.
